And since my contact is a Rangers fan (and therefore a person of character), I must watch the replay of Corey Seager's barehanded play from this week’s game before we talk. Oh, and while I'm at it, I should order that jersey my son has been eyeing for his birthday.”

Essentially, I have become a master of procrastination; the project at hand won’t be started anytime soon. I no longer wonder why I get distracted easily. I know that it’s because the task is daunting, dull, or tedious. So, I will find endless reasons to delay. This tendency, though seemingly harmless at the outset, leads to detrimental outcomes.

Every minor, non-urgent matter magically becomes more appealing than persisting through a challenging or tedious task. These diversions accumulate, leading to substantial setbacks. This pattern of behavior pushed me to a critical juncture with distraction, one that nearly cost me my career.

Fortunately, you don’t need an ADHD diagnosis to harness this type of focus. The essence of becoming indisruptable truly lies in the pursuit of what genuinely captivates and intrigues you, allowing you to follow the trails blazed by your passions and interests. Reflect on this: When was the last time you were so consumed with curiosity that nothing else could distract you from your goals?
